Kylie’s 12 Week Journey – Week 6

Wow! Half way through the challenge already! Where has that time gone?! Not a huge amount to report this week. The weeks are rolling into each other and I’m finding that I’m losing track of time and where I’m up to in the challenge. I figure that’s a good thing as I’m not counting days or weeks, I’m just living it.

I had a few moments of self doubt this week as I reached the half way mark, worry that I’m not far enough along by this stage to reach my personal goal.

The only thing different this week was that I decided not to have my treat meal. This was my decision and something that I had been weighing up all week whether to have it or not. I wanted to see how it affected my loss for the week for the following week and I must say, I was happy with the result that I got from it.

I’ve also tried to push myself harder and faster in everything I do. Jason has encouraged me to pick up heavier weights when doing my strength training and I was surprised that I was actually able to complete my workout using much heavier weights! I was buzzing afterwards, I didn’t know my arms had it in them to lift that heavy (And when I say heavy, it’s still really light compared to what a lot of people lift, but it was heavy for me!)! Shereen has encouraged me to jump higher and squat lower when doing my cardio workouts. This is something that I struggle with, especially on days when I’m feeling tired. It’s easier to just shuffle my feet and move my arms half-heartedly, but I get so much more out of it when I actually lift my knees and bounce more.

Things I have learnt this week:

  • Even in quieter weeks I have the opportunity to push myself harder and reach new milestones.
  • It’s important to keep pushing yourself harder every time you work out to build up your strength and to be able to achieve new personal bests. Don’t let yourself get comfortable!
